MOD 1401:2026
Modulus AI Representation Verification Program
Governance statements and disclosures published under MOD 1401:2026, clause 10.1.
The verification body
Modulus AI, Inc. is a corporation with its principal place of business in Scottsdale, Arizona, United States, and an affiliate of Modulus Financial Engineering, Inc. and Modulus Global, Inc. Its top management is Richard Gardner, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, who holds overall authority and responsibility for the Program under clause 6.1.2. The Program manager and the evidence custodian are designated in writing under clause 6.1.3.
How a record works
An organization engages Modulus. Modulus verifies facts about it from evidence (audited financial statements, filed records, primary documents), investigates how AI systems represent it, and makes findings on the claims those systems produce. Every entry is made and reviewed by named people and links to the evidence it rests on. The organization decides whether each entry is published and where: privately, at an address reached only through its own website or llms.txt, or publicly. Modulus decides what a published entry says; an entry is published as verified or not at all. A record is re-verified every 90 days and after every major model release, and is withdrawn when the engagement ends. Modulus publishes no list of the organizations it verifies.
Commitment to impartiality (clause 5.3.1)
Modulus AI, Inc. commits that every verified fact and every finding it issues under MOD 1401:2026 is made on the evidence alone. No entry is influenced by who pays for it, by the prospect of future work, or by any relationship of the company or its personnel. Modulus does not verify itself, does not provide marketing, advertising, search or AI search optimization, content, public relations, reputation management or review solicitation services to any organization it verifies, and does not accept any consideration that depends on the content of an entry or on a change in any AI system's answers.

Fee principle (clause 5.3.4)
Fees for verification are agreed before work begins and are determined by scope: the fact types, systems, languages and markets in scope and the re-verification interval. Fees do not depend on what is found or on whether any AI system changes an answer.
Disclosures (clause 5.3.8)
Modulus AI, Inc. holds U.S. Patents 12,008,332 B1 and 12,380,287 B2, Systems for controllable summarization of content. Modulus purchases access to the AI systems in scope on the providers' standard commercial terms in order to make observations under Annex B of the standard, and holds no license agreement, equity, revenue share or other financial interest with or in any provider of a system in scope. Any change to these facts will be disclosed here and on every record affected.
Default systems in scope (clause 8.2.1)
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Grok, Meta AI, DeepSeek, Qwen Chat, Kimi and Duck.ai, together with the AI-augmented search features of general web search engines. The list is reviewed at least quarterly; each record names the systems in scope for that record.
Transitional provision in effect
Clause 7.3.6: until five engagements have been completed under the standard, lead verifiers and independent reviewers may be authorized on experience without completion of supervised engagements; each authorization is recorded with its basis.
Notices of error, appeals and complaints
Any person who believes an entry in a published record is wrong may say so by writing to verification@modulus.ai with the record address, the entry identifier, the ground and any evidence (clause 9.15). Notices are acknowledged within 5 business days and evaluated by a verifier not involved in the entry; an entry found to be wrong is corrected or withdrawn. The subject of a record may appeal under clause 9.16. Complaints about the conduct of Modulus or its personnel may be sent to the same address (clause 9.17); a description of the complaints process is available on request.
